Further questions might be:

Why did I make it?

What was I aiming at?

Who won the FA cup in 1966?

I do! :-bd

I am using it as a controller for my 'rock crawler chassis' robot.

I can drive it round remotely via normal RC and can view the on board phones camera through my phone - using a couple of web cam apps. Driving it via BTI and bluetooth can be done but only in sight of it.

Suggestions a future BTI interface( I know some have already been suggested but I really would like them :) -

- To be able to see BTI's interface under a web cam output, to make remote driving possible.

- Access to Gps and other sensor data would be awesome.

- Access to web for internet control.

I'm sure that's enough to be getting on with and again keep up the good work.

Never, never give up is my motto, lets hope its yours too!

Cheers,

Paul ;)

Cheers Paul and welcome to the forum.

If you ever do any videos of your exploits I'd be honored to have you put links to them here on the forum (you can use the youtube button for example).

Good suggestions there, I'll give it some thought.

I was in the middle of developing my own version, having to learn all the appropriate Android libraries, etc., when I came across BTinterface and it has saved me all that headache!

I've even purchased the Basic4Android (with your code ;) ) so that I could do some other development...THANKS for that pointer!

My only wish would be a way for BTinterface to pass along the phone number of the phone that sent the command so that I could reply directly to whoever sent the SMS. I'm thinking of a centralized, um, "server", that I can use to send/receive commands/messages/etc. and then reply back to the sender the results.

But otherwise, a truly awesome program that, as I've said, saved the three hairs I have left on my head ;)

Let me know when Pro comes out. If it has that "sending number", even as a selection in a "settings" screen, I'm all over it!

(And yeah, I'll be reading the other forums to see if that's already been suggested!)

Thanks ProfShadow and welcome to the forum.

I'll look into the possibility of interrogating a phone to find it's number.

Of course not all devices that use BTInterface are phones.

Actually now that you're a B4a'er you can ask on the forum.

A nicer bunch of people I've never met.

Actually, if it could just pass along the number that sent the SMS is all I need. I see it in the pop-up/toast message.

I just wanted to reply to the person who sent the message, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the welcome! So far it has been working great!

Ah.... I was just looking at the code for version 7 which is I believe the version that you have.

It seems to be already in there as an undocumented feature.

Try sending the command:
get lastsms

I think the reason that I have not documented it yet is that I wanted to test out what happens if the user withholds their number.

Let me know if that works for you.
